Operations Shift Manager

Central Fife | Up to £50,000 per annum

Our client is seeking an experienced Operations Shift Manager to lead a busy warehouse and distribution operation based in Central Fife. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who can drive performance, develop teams, and ensure operational excellence across all areas of the warehouse.

The Role

Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of warehouse operations during your shift, ensuring products are received, stored and dispatched efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, service and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

Operations

• Manage daily warehouse and distribution activities across inbound and outbound operations.
• Allocate labour and resources effectively to meet operational demands.
• Monitor KPIs, productivity and service levels.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Stock & Logistics

• Ensure goods are received, processed and stored accurately.
• Oversee stock replenishment and inventory control activities.
• Ensure orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time.
• Manage stock discrepancies, returns and operational queries.
• Ensure all shipping and transport documentation is completed correctly.

Health & Safety

• Promote and maintain a positive safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with all site policies and procedures.
• Support incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain a safe working environment for colleagues, contractors and visitors.

Team Leadership

• Lead, motivate and develop warehouse teams to achieve operational targets.
• Provide coaching, performance feedback and ongoing support.
• Identify training and development opportunities.
• Build a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.
• Support workforce planning and succession development.

Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain strong working relationships across the business.
• Attend operational meetings and contribute to business improvements.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation.

About You

• Previous experience in a Shift Manager, Operations Manager, Warehouse Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong people management and coaching skills.
• Experience within a warehouse, logistics, distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to manage priorities within a fast-paced operation.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of health & safety and operational best practice.
• A proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement.

Shift Pattern

Week 1

• Monday to Thursday: 3:00pm – 11:30pm
• Friday & Saturday: Off
• Sunday: 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Week 2

• Monday & Tuesday: 10:30am – 10:30pm
• Wednesday & Thursday: 12:00pm – 10:00pm
• Friday, Saturday & Sunday: Off
